Bethenny maintains it's all about balance. "I rarely exercise. I hate water. I prioritize sleep but fail. I eat whatever I want but I never binge. I run around like a lunatic with endless energy… in my 20s & 30s I dieted & exercised endlessly & was much heavier & less happy overall with my physical appearance. I have good skin but I sag in some places & am thin, but not in any notable muscular shape by anyone's standards. I choose balance and happiness & doing the best that I can. When I'm 90 I won't wish I exercised more, that's for sure," she captioned the post.
Like Bethenny mentioned in the post, she refuses all fad diets. "I'm old enough to know that fat-free was a craze, low-carb, eat your weight in meat and cheese was a phase, keto is a fad, the Zone was a moment, and so on …. so yes, I eat carbs. I eat everything, but I don't binge," she told Good Housekeeping.
Bethenny only eats two meals a day. "What I eat has no consistency," she told Good Housekeeping. "Today, it was an egg white vegetable omelet with a baked potato and a few french fries for lunch. Sometimes, it's arugula with tomato, avocado, and Parmesan. Pureed soups are a mainstay for me."
Bethenny prefers laid back exercise. "My philosophy on eating and exercise is to do what you can when you can," she explained in a 2019 Instagram post. "If I'm near a beach, I take an hour walk. If I have the time, I'll do a yoga DVD. I don't believe in fear based, torturous, aggressive exercise. Life is too short and stressful to dread doing something for an hour. In addition, extreme exercise creates extreme hunger."
Bethenny has her priorities in order, and diet and fitness aren't on her short list. "I choose time with my daughter and sleep first," she revealed.
Bethenny doesn't diet. However, she won't over-indulge either. "I love food and eat whatever I want but I NEVER binge," she said in the same Instagram post. "I don't beat myself up about what I've eaten or praise myself about what I haven't. Food isn't your best friend or your enemy. It's just food. I have a good relationship with it."
Bethenny sticks to activities that promote her mental and physical health. "People always ask me if I ever relax….I'm very insular & I love to hit pause & heal. Beach walks, swimming, sleep & selfcare are my therapy," she wrote on Instagram.
Bethenny sets regular goals. "Being a mother has infinitely changed my perspective. I don't believe in new year's resolutions but I do believe in daily and weekly resolutions: to be a better person, parent, philanthropist, and partner. I strive for peace and balance in all areas of my life. We certainly won't achieve perfection but the journey outweighs the destination. We are constantly growing and evolving on our own and with those around us," she captioned one of her posts on Instagram.
