Rosette Releases Stylish 7 Minutes

Platinum recording artist, songwriter, DJ, and actress Rosette, aka Rosette Luve, releases a new single, “7 Minutes,” featuring EDM duo SMLE.

Recognized as one of the world’s foremost EDM vocalists, “7 Minutes” reveals another facet of Rosette’s versatility and expressive voice, as she crosses over into the realm of steamy R&B with cool savors of pop.

Born in British Columbia, in 2004 Rosette took seventh place in Canada’s edition of Popstars, followed a year later with the release of her debut album, Uh Oh, via Shred Records. The album’s lead single, “Crushed,” rode the number one spot on CanCon’s Top 40 chart for a solid month.

In 2012, she signed with Ultra Records, releasing “Amnesia,” which attained double-platinum status and hit the Top 40 in Canada and The Netherlands. Rosette has collaborated with Benny Benassi, Fedde La Grande, and Kardinall Offishall, and has shared the stage with Rihanna, Timbaland, and Akon.

Rosette co-wrote “Til It’s Gone,” the gold-certified song on Britney Spears’ album Britney Jean, and is credited on Madonna’s “Girl Gone Wild.” In 2016, Sirius XM named Rosette Best Pop Artist of the Year.

“7 Mintues” opens on low-slung sensuously swirling colors topped by Rosette’s sultry voice, both voluptuously nuanced and deliciously crystalline. A trap-lite beat sets the rhythm for swanky textures of lush R&B filaments. Elegantly posh keyboards infuse the tune with tantalizing wisps and resonant glowing filaments.

There’s something about the song vaguely reminiscent of Ravel’s definitive erotic composition, “Bolero,” approaching the delicate and vulnerable, yet projecting washes of erogenous, interweaving, palpitating sheens of coloration.

Akin to sonic décolletage, the suggestive lyrics underline the song’s enticing flirtation.
